Rate and Payment

What are your rates?

  • For custom appointments I work at a rate of $200/hr with a $150 design fee to account for the time I spend outside of your appointment researching, designing, and drawing your tattoo. This can take anywhere from a few hours to a few days. Only needle to skin time is considered in this rate. Placing, stenciling, and breaks are not counted into this time.

    • Full day appointments are 4-6 hours long and half day appointments are 2-3 hours long.

  • For pre-drawn appointments each drawing will have a flat-rate design price. Generally these are between $250 and $1200. Depending on the size and placement if this price needs to be adjusted it will be discussed prior to the tattoo.

An expected price range is communicated before every tattoo is booked.

Sliding scale? Budget concerns?

Sliding Scale

While not every project can simply be made smaller to fit a budget, I make sure to offer a limited number of sliding scale appointments each month. Sliding scale is a rate adjustment from $100-175/hr and represents the idea that financial resources, including income, are not and should not be the only determing factor in whether or not someone can access services/care/etc. Due to the limited nature of these appointments, I ask that you keep your request to one piece per booking so I can accommodate as many folks who need this option as possible. Please self-assess where you fall on the financial privilege scale before requesting sliding scale pricing. The Worts and Cunning Green Bottle is a simplified tool to understand where you land - I prefer for these appointments to go to folks whose bottle is most empty.

Budget

So you may not have an empty bottle, but you also have a tight budget that full day tattoos or long term projects don’t exactly fit into. Let’s discuss it! I am always down to break a piece down into multiple shorter sessions, and to pace out those appointments as far in-between as your saving habits need. I am also open to discussing lower rates for on-going projects that may require 10, 15, 20+ hours of sessions.

Can you afford my full rate and then some?

Tipping helps me provide more sliding scale appointments for those who can’t.

What is your deposit policy?

I require a non-refundable $100 deposit for all appointments. Your deposit goes toward the cost of your session and is taken off the total price at the end of your tattoo.

It serves to ensure clients are serious about their appointment and it softens the blow for late cancellations and no-shows.

What type of payments do you accept?

My preferred form of payment is cash, as it does not require paying a fee like card payments do, although we can accommodate card payments if necessary.

How does tipping work?

While it is customary to tip tattooers and it is really helpful and appreciated, it is not required! I encourage you to do what is in the comfort of your own budget. Gifts like books, plants, or handmade sentiments make great tips that are usually less financial stress and appreciated all the same! There will be no expectations, criticism or consequences of any kind regarding a tip or lack thereof.
